The primary purpose
of this position is to independently perform a wide range of Base Supply
warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, selecting, shipping,
pickup, and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials/equipment; also
uses various supply databases to monitor shelf-life, repair cycles, controlled
item codes, bench stock, reusable containers, and due-in from maintenance.

Performs
a broad range of standard receiving assignments and tasks involved in
issuing/shipping items.

Performs a broad
range of standard storage assignments.

·

Operates
fork lift trucks and automated material handling and identification equipment
to include mobile stock selectors and electromechanical automated equipment,
such as high rise automated storage and retrieval vehicles to move, stack and
unstuck, load and unload, bin, and position material.

·

Drives
one or more types of trucks such as pickup, panel, and flatbed trucks, which
typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads
at highway speeds.

·

Maintains
records and documents actions.

Uses computer
terminal, optical readers, bar code wands, scanners, etc. to input nomenclature
and description of changes.

·

Performs
material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a
safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with
established safety rules and regulations.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which they are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.

Knowledge of accepted warehousing methods,
procedures, material handling techniques, handling and packing programs (i.e.,
the Electrostatic Discharge); and of warehousing functions, such as material
receiving, storage, issuing and preservation.

2.

Knowledge of warehouse configurations,
storage requirements for particular commodities, and storage documentation
requirements; and of inventory procedures.

3.

Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and
policies related to records maintenance and documentation; and of safety
regulations, practices and procedures.

4.

Skill in the use of automated material
processing equipment (i.e. forklift, pallet jacks, hand carts, mobile stock
selectors, electromechanical equipment) and systems (i.e., computer terminals,
optical readers, scanners, supply databases and tracking/expediting systems).

5. Ability to prepare
inventory and production reports; and to screen shipping and receiving
documents for discrepancies.

6.

Ability to interpret and apply instructions
pertaining to material handling; to maintain tools, equipment, and work area in
a neat, clean, and orderly manner; to safely operate fork lift trucks to handle
controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and
driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and
out of trucks, and to safely drive and operate a motor vehicle to manipulate
controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving vehicles in all types of
traffic and road conditions and in judging overhead, side clearance, turning
radius, and breaking distance.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE

:

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

:

Position
requires a security clearance of secret.

·

Work
may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military
or commercial aircraft.

·

May
be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends,
rotating shifts, call back, and/or holidays; overtime may be required.

·

May
be required to carry a beeper/cell phone.

·

May
be required to participate in contingency situations, both real world and
exercise.

·

Performs
additional duties as required.

·

The
work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle.

An appropriate valid driver’s license may be
required for this position.

Vehicles may
include driving a forklift and up to a two ton truck.

·

This
position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sept 96)
of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

·

This
is a drug testing designated position.

The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Cat I, Type 2.

·

Work
may require local travel to various warehouse locations on Patrick AFB and/or
Cape Canaveral AFS to perform duties.

·

Receives
periodic inspections and inventory procedural training and maintains
proficiency.

·

May
be required to complete Nuclear War Reserve Material (NWRM) Fundamental
training course annually or as required per AFI 20-110, Chapter 9.

PHYSICAL
EFFORT

  • Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping,
bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

May lift and carry weights up to 40 lbs.

May handle heavier items with weight lifting
equipment or with assistance from other workers.

Work requires light to moderate physical
effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to
operate hand and foot controls while driving, raising, lowering, and tilting
fork lift trucks.

Subject to possible
strain caused by vibration of fork lift trucks.

Occasionally may be required to make limited emergency repairs on
vehicles, such as changing a flat tire.

WORKING
CONDITIONS

  • Work is done inside and outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty,
or poorly lighted.

Employee is regularly
exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, falls from ladders,
falling material, or injury from equipment.

May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise areas
while working in a mechanized work area, or radiation, toxins, explosive
hazards, or chemical fumes while working in a hazardous materials area.

May be required to wear protective clothing,
such as hard hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber
aprons.

Drives motor vehicles in all
types of traffic and weather conditions.
