This position is located in Camp Pendleton, CA. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.

A pre-appointment physical examination is required. DUTIES:
Major duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper height, weight and other load and storage requirements are met to prevent damage in storage and transit.
  • Operate fork lift truck, automated material handling and identification equipment to handle materials (i.e. move, stack and unstack, load and unload, bin, and position material).
  • Establish and maintain inventory files and records of issue/transfer reports according to shop rules and regulations.
  • Identify items by name, stock number, letter, code, quantity, or unit of issue on containers to properly handle, store, and package items safely.
  • Operate forklift in narrow and constricted warehouses safely to prevent damage to property or others. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler without more than normal supervision such as: retrieving materials and supplies from a warehouse.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift permit up to 10,000 pounds within 6 months of entrance on duty.

May be required to work independently at a remote issue point. May lift and carry up to 100 pounds, but the average weight varies between 25-50 pounds and is carried for distances up to 25 feet. Moderate amount of pushing, reaching, walking, standing, kneeling, climbing, and requires the ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Must have normal vision and hearing with or without corrective devices; depth perception; must be able to distinguish basic colors. Works indoors and outdoor. Works on ladders or scaffolding.
