This position is located in the Materials Management Warehouse of the Naval Health Clinic New England (NHCNE) in Newport, RI. He/she performs the duties of a Materials Handler, and is responsible for all operations involving logistics for the NHCNE Newport. The work involves receiving, storing and assembling for issue, shipment and distribution, a wide variety of supplies, equipment and materials. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance. DUTIES:
  • Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments.
  • Stow and store material according to warehouse procedures.
  • Select, retrieve, prepare, and load items for shipping.
  • Operate assigned Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Stock patient care and storage areas with materials and medical gas cylinders. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler without more than normal supervision such as: Experience handling, preparing and documenting the movement and storage of materials; reading and understanding shipping documents; operating material handling equipment; operating computer equipment for general purposes.
