Role/Team Summary

Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) Trading Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Agency Pass-Through Trading Desk. The group primarily performs these functions through the timely confirmation and allocation of TBA trades. The nature of this support requires strong multi-faceted individuals, who possess the ability to learn in a fast-paced and stressful environment. It is critical that the individual has the aptitude necessary to understand the economics and behaviour of the mortgage products traded.

The individual will be required to establish close working relationships with the Trading Desk, Sales Desk, Clearance, Technology, Credit, Legal & Compliance and Trade Accounting.

¨ Trade entry / trader position keeping

¨ Trader position / sales ticket reconciliation

¨ Customer trade confirmation

¨ Broker / dealer trade confirmation

¨ FICC Real Time Trade Matching (RTTM)

¨ Customer trade ticket processing

¨ MBS Derivative Desk trade support

¨ Daily pricing for TBAs

¨ Set hedge ratios for Pass-Through trading desk

¨ Asset manager account breakdowns

¨ Produce various daily and month-end reports for management and trading desk

Minimum Requirements

¨ Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Business preferred)

¨ MBS experience (minimum of 3-5 years)

¨ Working knowledge of the MBSCC

¨ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel)
