PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF PROGRAM:
MDFT is an intensive in home family therapy model that focuses on the parent child relationship. It targets children and adolescents between the ages of 9 – 18 who are at risk for substance abuse.
The MDFT clinicians work with case manager therapist assistants. They typically carry a caseload of 6 to 8 clients and provide intensive in home services to the family. MDFT encompasses treatment in four areas: the individual adolescent, the family members as individuals, the family unit, and how the family interacts with the social environment. It is solution focused and strives to provide immediate/practical outcomes that apply to all aspects of the adolescent’s life. It is an evidenced based treatment and training is provided.
Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent.
Must be licensed or licensable.
Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Experience in case management and crisis intervention.
Substantial experience working with children and families within a system approach to treatment.
Willing to work 2 – 3 evenings per week and occasional weekends are required.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) desired.
