DESCRIPTION: Seeking experienced, highly-motivated, and extremely inventive hands-on engineer to design critical mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment in an enthusiastic business unit that is rapidly gaining market share points against entrenched competition. Candidate will join a respected engineering organization and provide technical expertise in the area of process chamber design and will have responsibility for major chamber design projects, independently solve diverse mechanical issues, carry out system integration tasks and testing, actively participate in design reviews, act as technical mentor to junior engineers, and communicate ideas and results to other engineers and management. Additionally, candidate will help manage solid parts, assemblies, and drawings for ECO control.
The ideal candidate is expected to be knowledgeable in: General mechanical engineering theory including statics, vibration/dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics especially in transitional flow regimes; Electrical-pneumo-mechanical system design including actuators, power transmission, and control; Vacuum system design practice including seal design and materials compatibility; Materials selection including experience with the many grades/specifications of metals and advanced engineering ceramics and plastics; Volume manufacturing-worthy fabrication techniques; General safety and ergonomics design practice including semiconductor industry standards (SEMI S2 and S8). Familiarity with OEM vacuum component suppliers and their products is required.
Additionally, candidate should have: Significant experience resolving hardware problems; Basic understanding of temperature, fluid, and gas control system and components; Ability to work with suppliers to implement your designs in a timely and cost-effective fashion.
QUALIFICATIONS: 10+ years in semiconductor capital equipment design; Experience with solid modeling using Pro-Engineer Wildfire; Excellent analysis and trouble-shooting skills; Ability to rapidly generate design concepts and subsequent detail drawings; Ability to: (1) Manage and lead design projects (2) Effectively communicate both orally and in writing (3) Relate ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of personnel.
