UWMC has an outstanding opportunity for a Full time Medical Assistant . Medical Assistants perform duties to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including: preparing the patient and the environment for treatment; meeting the communication needs of patients and family; conducting basic diagnostic tests; providing patient care coordination, patient education and clerical / reception functions. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including symptoms and results of diagnostic tests. Completes follow-up as directed by provider. As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant helps to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff. General supervision is provided by the manager or designee. Supervision for tasks performed under a Medical Assistant’s Health Care Assistant Certification is the responsibility of the clinic medical director or designee. Physicians, health care specialists, and RNs provide immediate supervision of services performed by Medical Assistants under provider’s orders for specific patients.
The Audiology Program at UWMC provides full service rehabilitative services for the hearing impaired population. This MA position’s primary role is to perform a broad range of tasks in support of the Audiology Program to include administrative and clinical functions for patients receiving care in the Hearing Aid, Cochlear Implant, NICU, and Diagnostic Audiology programs. The role includes responsibilities in direct patient care as well as carrying out administrative duties to support the care delivery to patients with hearing impairment.
The position also functions as a member of the larger Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Center MA team, providing coverage across all subspecialties.

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA);
high school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience providing direct patient care in a health care setting
