Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or biological science with MT (ASCP), NCA, CHT, or CHS certification or eligibility. Histocompatibility experience is required. Experience in molecular testing and flow cytometry is desirable.

All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.

Job Description:
The Immunogenetics Laboratory performs high complexity histocompatibility testing for the stem cell and solid organ transplant programs at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and work independently. Primary responsibilities include HLA typing, crossmatching, HLA antibody identification, and engraftment analysis. Testing methodologies include PCR-SSOP, PCR-SSP, PCR-SBT, fragment analysis of STRs, lymphocytotoxicity, and flow cytometry. Rotating on-call is required to cover deceased donor workups for transplant.
