The function of this position is to design new MEMS products and design new MEMS processes. This requires an understanding of wafer fabs and their strengths and weaknesses in regards to MEMS devices. Expertise in process engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and semiconductor device physics is needed. Experimentation and process/product development requires someone with a hands on approach
Responsible for MEMS product design.
Responsible for semiconductor process design
Interface with external foundries.
Responsible for failure analysis of returned products
MEMS sensor operational theory
Interfacing with a foundry service
SPC, FMEA, proficiency with statistics
Semiconductor Device Physics
Familiar with chemicals used in the Semiconductor field & Chemical Safety Procedures
Must be able to design and carry out experiments requiring the assembly of custom fixtures, materials, etc.
Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineer required
4+ years semiconductor process engineering experience
2+ years MEMS Design Experience
Microsoft Office, Project, Access
Visual Basic or C - not required, but a plus
SUPREM - not required, but experience is a plus
DW2000, LEdit or equivalent – not required, but a plus
