The Department of Health Services Policy and Management, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina invites applications for the position of Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program Director. This is a tenure-track position at Assistant or Associate level. The Department is a full Graduate Member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and the Arnold School of Public Health is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The Department offers an MHA degree accredited by the Commission on Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Our MHA students have a strong track record in acquiring nationally competitive scholarships and management fellowships. The Department also offers the Master of Public Health degree, PhD and Doctor of Public Health in Health Services Policy and Management.
Responsibilities: The MHA Director has primary responsibility for management of the MHA program, providing active developmental leadership consistent with the requirements of a CAHME-accredited program. The Director will teach undergraduate/master/doctoral level courses, advise students, and participate in mentoring doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows. The Director is expected to maintain an active research and scholarship agenda, including extramural funding for research.
Qualifications : Qualifications include a strong record of research and scholarly publications, quality teaching, and an earned PhD degree in health administration, health services research, health economics, health policy, or business administration. Previous leadership or experience of substantive administrative participation with a CAHME-accredited MHA or allied program is preferred. Candidates are expected to show evidence/substantial promise of peer-reviewed publications and extramural research funding.
Salary : Competitive.
