The Department of Biology, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is offering a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position in Microbiology beginning August 2014. The primary responsibility will be undergraduate teaching, averaging 24 credits per year. Teaching includes general microbiology and senior seminar courses, as well as an opportunity to develop an advanced course in an area of specialty that complements our current program. Successful candidates will also be expected to maintain a research program, advise students, and engage in department and university service. Innovative teaching and involvement of undergraduates in research is strongly encouraged. Appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor.
- Ph.D. in a microbiological field (A.B.D. will receive consideration but Ph.D. must be completed for retention beyond the first year.)
- Broad training in biology with an emphasis in microbiology
- A commitment to high quality undergraduate education and scholarship
