We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level Airworthiness Engineer in our Project Engineering group.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Working with Military and civil airworthiness certification of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). U.S. military certification work involves supporting the U.S. Air Force’s airworthiness certification process to acquire Military Type Certificates and Military Flight Releases (MFR).
· U.S. civil certification work involves engaging in the FAA’s airworthiness certification processes for Special (Experimental) Certifications, Type Certifications, Supplemental Type Certifications and Certificates of Authorization (COA).
· Foreign Military Sales through the U.S. Air Force (USAF) will involve supporting processes unique to foreign military and/or civil certification authorities.
· Will be expected to develop a strong working relationship with airworthiness certification authorities (U.S. civil, U.S. military and foreign), as required.
· Collaborate with customers and certification authorities to establish and adjudicate airworthiness verification activities and documentation.
· Comply with applicable customer airworthiness certification requirements, including design, development, safety, manufacturing and process standards.
· Support the integration of airworthiness requirements into the overall engineering, manufacturing and operational environments.
· Responsible for planning, overseeing, assessing, documenting and reporting compliance with airworthiness certification criteria.
· Prepare or ensuring preparation of required airworthiness certification documentation.
· Support USAF’s Modification Airworthiness Certification Process as required for individual upgrade projects.
· Facilitate changes to product designs, testing, analyses, maintenance, operations and documentation in order to satisfy certification requirements.
· Track and report product improvements that provide airworthiness certification value, resolve airworthiness deficiencies or improve airworthiness standing of products. Manage Military Flight Releases (MFR) issued by the USAF; includes tracking, processing, disseminating, and recording issued MFRs.
· Coordinate and lead technical interchange meetings for assigned system(s) or project(s)/program(s); interact with senior internal and external personnel (subcontractors, associate contractors and customers ) on technical matters requiring coordination among the organizations.
· Provide guidance for engineers (internal, associate contractors, subcontractors) working on airworthiness related activities.
· Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, certification authorities and government representatives.
· Will need to be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a diverse, integrated team environment.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering
