The School of Motion Pictures & Television fosters creativity and independence in filmmaking as an art. We also provide instruction in the commercial aspects of filmmaking as a business. Our approach is dedicated to practical, hands-on training in a collaborative framework. Students are immersed in a broad range of filmmaking skills, including producing, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, screenwriting, production design and acting.
Shift Available: Hours to be determined upon hiring, up to 40 hours per week. Must be flexible and willing to work weekend, morning or night hours.
MPT Edit Lab Technician
The Academy of Art University is looking for an Edit Lab Technician to join their prestigious Motion Pictures and Television Department. In this position you will be responsible for maintaining and securing video and audio editing equipment. You will also be responsible for assisting students, faculty and staff in solving technical problems.
Candidates must have at least 1-2 years work experience with the following programs:
After Effects (strongly preferred)
Must possess strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software on Macintosh G4s, G5s and OS X
Must have working knowledge of video editing, pro analog and DV decks, audio mixers, and applications
Knowledge of ProTools a plus
Work is available only when school is in session for a total of 37 weeks per year : 15 weeks in the fall semester, 15 weeks in the spring semester, and 7 weeks in the summer semester.
