Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans to aid in the delivery of patient care.
COMPLETES QUALITY MRI SCANS TO AID IN THE DELIVERY OF PATIENT CARE.
*Completes each MRI scan in a timely manner to include completion of all necessary paperwork and accurate tracking of procedure at the time of exam to ensure that exam is available and ready for radiologist interpretation and to ensure an effective and timely turnaround time.
*Understands human anatomy well enough to consistently achieve optimum positioning for producing quality patient images.
*Meets the expectations and requirements of the Radiologist for diagnostic evaluations by properly applying sequencing, intensity, contrast levels, proper coils, etc.
*In a timely manner communicates any relevant and special instructions regarding a patient to the Radiologist.
OBTAINS RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM AND OFFERS REASSURANCE TO PATIENT IN ORDER TO ENHANCE QUALITY CARE AND PATIENT SATISFACTION.
*Effectively and clearly explains MRI procedures to patient in a professional and courteous manner before beginning study.
*Evaluates and screens patient for contraindications and metallic objects prior to entering magnetic field.
*Routinely obtains and documents relevant patient history before beginning MRI procedure.
*Conscientiously safeguards patient's personal property.
ASSISTS IN THE MAINTENANCE OF MEDICAL IMAGING RECORDS.
*Archives all completed scans prior to the end of each work day.
*Deletes old exams off of the hard drive daily to allow room for new exams.
*Files all relevant paperwork correctly after each patient exam.
ASSISTS IN THE MAINTENANCE OF A CLEAN, ORDERLY AND SERVICEABLE WORK AREA.
*Performs routine quality control checks on the scanner each morning, and troubleshoots or calls for service as necessary.
*Cleans processor rollers at the end of each work day, mixes and adds the appropriate chemicals for the processor as needed and checks to see that the processor is functioning properly on a regular basis.
FULFILLS CONTINUING EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS.
*Takes responsibility to understand and complete professional and technical requirements and provide Scott & White with the necessary documentation on such requirements.
PERFORMS OTHER POSITION APPROPRIATE DUTIES AS REQUIRED IN A COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS MANNER.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABIILTIES
*Graduate of an accredited or AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology required.
* Minimum of 3 years direct experience in MRI or graduate of an accredited program in MR Technology
*One to two years experience required.
*Clinical Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology experience required.
*Direct MRI technology experience with MRI Certification preferred.
* Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in MRI (ARRT-MR) preferred.
Qualifications
Experience: 1+ Years Clinical Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology experience required.
Degree: Grad of an Accredited Program or 3 yrs of MRI experience
