We currently have a part time opening for an MRI Technologist in our Moline clinic. This position will work Saturday 8 am - 5 pm and Monday 12 pm - 8 pm; with the flexibility to work additional days/hours as needed. The duties of this position are as follows:
Explains MRI processes and procedures to patients and ensures the patient feels at ease and is comforted
Performs MRI and works with computer systems to generate images of patients
Maintains and upkeeps the MRI system and reports any functioning issues
Assists in patient scheduling and insurance verifications as needed
Reads and determines the validity of reports before passing them along to ordering Physicians
Makes CDs and copies images for outside Physicians
Assists X-ray Technologist and Physician Assistant with Arthogram injections
Performs IV injections on certain patients to improve MRI images, in a safe and precautious manner
Communicates with outside Radiologist regarding direction of scanning, pathologies, or final reports
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
Ability to detect and adjust scanning to cover pathologies
Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and assist in lifting patients up to 300lbs
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Candidate must have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in radiography with ARRT(R) or equivalent certification, including ARMRIT. MR certification (through ARRT) is preferred. One year of previous MRI experience is preferred.
