The Florida Museum of Natural History’s Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting in promoting positive relations between the Museum and its many constituents; enhancing internal and external communications; and integrating and coordinating the Museum’s various public relations, community relations, marketing, advertising, publications, social media, branding and news efforts. Assists with conducting advertising and marketing research, developing advertising and marketing plans and helps implement those approved. Researches material, conducts interviews, and writes print and electronic news and feature copy, including articles/press releases and other promotional pieces for publication and/or dissemination about Museum exhibitions, programs, collections/research, education and donations to various audiences, including local, regional, national and international media. Assists in planning, preparing and disseminating news releases, brochures, advertisements, fliers and newsletters. Assists with responding to inquiries and requests for information from the public, other campus units and various media. Arranges media appearances and interviews for appropriate Museum personnel as needed. Assists with press conferences, escorting media and film production crews during Museum visits, outreach efforts and special events.
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
