General machining, measuring and set up for fabrication of hardware
• Sets up and operates to fabricate production parts utilizing various types of a single, multiple spindle and radial drill presses when production tooling is provided. Operates a variety of hand power tools to deburr, file radii and chamfers, and to remove sharp edges from material or parts. Remove grease from parts or material by placing them degreasing tanks and direct the spray of cleaning solvent over parts or material to be cleaned.
• Works from job folder, blueprint, engineering drawing or instruction of higher graded employee or supervisor to fabricate simple parts performing work of a repetitive nature using standard tooling.
Checks all tooling for proper size, geometry, sharpness, and proper calibration as required. Perform proper housekeeping of work are to maintain safety and cleanliness.
Technical training, recognized journeyman apprenticeship, programming and more than 15 years experience in setting up, operating and N/C programming.
Use of Hand power tools such as files, scrapers, electrical or air motor rotary files, wire wheels and sic sanders, belt sanders, chamfering tools, vibrator or tumbling machines and other similar equipment.
May be directed to work other conventional, numerical control (NC) and computer numerical control (CNC) machine shop equipment under supervision of the supervisor or designated higher graded employee.
