The Machine Operator is an active member of a production team that will assist in manufacturing top notch building materials to ensure Morton Building’s highest quality and standards are met daily

Learn and apply the Morton Building’s safety and operating procedures, methods and standards to daily production
Ability & willingness to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions & procedure manuals
While performing the duties of this job, the employer is regularly required to stand, walk, and/or climb and occasionally required to sit
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
Operate plant manufacturing equipment safely, efficiently and effectively
Display an ability and willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including various types of weather conditions (hot & cold) and situations that will include high climbing and heavy lifting of objects
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
The Machine Operator will work as part of the regional Plant team and fulfill duties as assigned
Work with other plant workers in a safe, organized and enjoyable work environment

Previous experience operating any of the following equipment: Saw, slitter, roll machines shear, brake press.
High School Diploma or GED
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Demonstrates a can-do attitude with good work ethic
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in welding is a plus
Previous experience using a forklift and moving equipment
Must be able to read mechanical blue prints
Self motivated and willing to continuously improve in job performance and job development
Work in a fast paced and changing environment
Learn various job functions, like operating heavy equipment
Work in a safe manner and contribute to a safe workplace environment
Produce quality work & and work in an efficient manner
Ability to take direction
Treat company property, equipment, tools, machines in a way that respects the investment
Must have reliable transportation to work every day
Able to pass a basic math test
Demonstrates active listening, learning & reading comprehension
Ability to pass a pre-placement physical & drug test
