PHP Developer – Magento #514

Position Summary
The PHP Developer – Magento will have experience with back-end development with both PHP and MySQL. This person will be able to take guidance from their manager and work well in a team environment. This person will also contribute to the platforms over all architectural strategy, planning, and design. A successful candidate will have demonstrable experience building real online applications in a LAMP environment and will be able to make a meaningful contribution from day one.

Experience and Education
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of PHP backend development
  • Advanced Experience with Magento and Magento theming
  • Ability to write well and have healthy conversations
  • Interest in and awareness of best practices in software development
  • Constantly keep up to date with the latest news and techniques in the Magento development world
  • Strong team ethic
  • Take pleasure in helping others around you become better developers, and working to make the people
  • around you successful
  • Magento Developer Plus certification (preferred)
  • Experience with Zend Framework 2 (preferred)
  • Systems Administration background (preferred)
  • Written articles or given talks for the web development community (preferred)

Technology Skills and Strengths
  • PHP Backend Development
  • Magento and Magento theming
  • Zend Framework or other MVC frameworks (ie. Symfony, CodeIgnitor, CakePHP, Laravel)
  • Relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQL
  • Javascript
  • Integrating with thirdparty APIs
  • Ability to rapidly debug issues and solve problems
  • Linux/UNIX/BSD operating systems
  • Resourceful and passionate about web application development with a strong commitment to quality
  • Knowledge of web security concepts, such as XSS, SQL injection
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
