TM Floyd & Company is looking for a seasoned Mainframe Programmer to join our team. If you are an experienced Mainframe Programmer with solid COBOL experience and the ability to interpret business requirements and analyze a legacy system, we encourage you to apply today!
The Mainframe Programmer will provide analysis of a legacy system, develop requirements and execute the coding, testing, and deployment needs. He/she will work in an IBM mainframe environment using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, CA Panvalet, and ISPF/SDSF.
The person in this role should have six or more years of mainframe programming experience, data analysis experience, and be able to formulate technical resolutions for business issues. He/she should have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, work well with others in a team environment, and be a self-starter.
The ideal candidate for this position will have significant COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2 experience. Candidates should also have experience with MS VISIO. A background in UNIX would be ideal. Job Skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
6 or more years of experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, CA, Panvalet, ISPF/SDSF
Experience with Microsoft Office, including VISIO
UNIX background is a plus
Ability to develop and interpret business requirements, develop technical specifications, write code, and develop test processes
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Comfortable working with others and independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
