IBM's new Technical Services Delivery Center in downtown Dubuque, Iowa is seeking a Team Leader responsible for providing leadership, work direction, and support to team members. Incumbent will need to support team members when problems arise. Responsible as the first escalation point for customer issues. Possible after hours and weekend coverage may be required. Candidate must also possess strong skills in a customer support environment, customer facing skills, problem determination skills, and be a team player. Act as an extension of the department Manager by supervising the work of the Delivery Center pool team/s which includes, but is not limited to, assigning and directing work of team members, appropriately load balancing teams work, and approving work schedules (including days off, vacation days). Provide formal employee performance evaluation of team members and recommend overall assessments for department Manager's approval. Analyze Metrics to identify trends and make recommendations. Ability to manage critical situations with appropriate over site and escalation. Participate in, or lead, daily huddles ensuring team's participation.
As a Team Leader, you will support a group of IBM employees and subcontractors. Your duties include driving continuous improvement, human resource management, skill development and coaching of employees. Excellent interpersonal skills, well developed work habits, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and project management skills are required. Candidates will be expected to work with other Team Leaders to support the successful completion of complex projects and initiatives. In this capacity, the Team Leader will be able to execute all his/her subproject/s within the complex project independently. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist management in the evaluation of project requests in order to create cost estimates, resource plans, schedules, and other project documentation.
- Identify and work with commercial client and IBM internal stakeholders.
- Conduct Due Diligence meetings and lead matrixed teams to achieve all project objectives and requirements on schedule.
- Communicate with project stakeholders and management, including IBM executives and external clients.
- Available to work nights and weekends as required Remote work is not available. Pager coverage and off shift coverage will be required. No paid relocation (candidates must either be located in Dubuque, or be willing to self-relocate to the area).
High School Diploma/GED
At least 6 months experience in Team Leadership
At least 2 years experience in Understanding of any of the following: z/OS Operating System, Z Series Hardware, Mainframe Storage Management
Basic knowledge in GDF methodologies
Basic knowledge in Maximo tool
Basic knowledge in Project Coordination or Project Management
At least 2 years experience in Customer support environment
Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
At least 3 years experience in Team Leadership
At least 4 years experience in Understanding of any of the following: z/OS Operating System, Z Series Hardware, Mainframe Storage Management
At least 6 months experience in GDF methodologies
At least 6 months experience in Maximo tool
At least 1 year experience in in at least one or more of the following: z/OS Operating System, Z Series Hardware, Mainframe Storage Management
At least 1 year experience in Project Coordination or Project Management
At least 4 years experience in Customer support environment
Certified in • Certified in Systems Administration disciplines for z/OS operating systems support platform.
