Summary: Involved in maintenance for machinery, facilities and equipment used in our production processes and related to daily operations. Supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance and tool crib groups; conducts planning, and implements actions and decisions made in relation to the roles and responsibilities listed in this job description.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. New Model / New Business: Coordinate with New Model Engineering Supervisor in support of new model / new business activity and schedules. Equipment and machinery schedules New equipment and machinery startup and installation Facility modifications and improvements related to new model startup and operations. Coordinate with other departments within the plant to support new model / new business development. Asset Management Establish and maintain a system for providing and tracking the care and maintenance of customer and company equipment and machinery assets. Establish system to maintain equipment and machinery maintenance history. Repair & Replacement Planning: Identify asset repair and replacement needs to Engineering group manager for use in budget and planning. Quality: Pursue improvements to systems and products that meet quality goals. Support quality improvement efforts with all departments.
Business Planning: Support Plant level and Department level Business Plan and assign duties and reporting assignments to subordinate associates as necessary to achieve targets set forth in the business plan.
Reports: Submit reports as required by management. Submit regularly scheduled reports: Monthly reports of key measures by departmental area (Maintenance Shop) Expenses (Tool Crib, key items or projects) Machinery and equipment PM status Machinery and equipment maintenance downtime Work order system measures
Budgets: Coordinate and administer the Engineering Project Procedures Project Requests – Propose and create Engineering Project Requests. Project– Act as Project Leader when assigned by engineering. Support engineering projects by coordinating maintenance associates in support of assigned projects. Project Budgets – Tracking of the approved maintenance and project budgets and coordinating with the accounting department (and also with engineering group on engineering projects). Assist in developing and administration of departmental budgets Plant capital investment budget Equipment repair and replacement budgets. Maintenance expense budgets Tool Crib budgets
Human Resource Management - Departmental Utilize associates within the department by assigning work roles and responsibilities to provide for operational needs of customers inside and outside of the organization. Support and Develop individual associate skills and knowledge to increase organization capabilities. Responsible for employment relation issues including vacation requests, suggest discipline as necessary, advise management on hiring and firing employees.
Training: Assist or advise subordinate associates in development of knowledge and understanding. Training and cross training of associates is expected at all management levels. Identify training needs and provide training for key areas within the department. Identify training needs and support training actions for production associates involved in new model production start-up. Identify training needs for production associates required due to technical process changes of current production processes. Coordinate training plans and expenses with training budget, associate evaluations, training needs and the training matrix. Key training areas include:
o PLC and automation systems
o Electro-mechanical systems
o Safety (LO/TO, Arc Flash, Press and Automation, PPE, etc.)
o Key process technologies (welding, tooling and fixtures, automation, etc.)
o Essential computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, digital photo, etc)
o Trade Skills (machine tool, electrical, automation and controls, fabrication, etc.)
o Root Cause Analysis
o Corrective and Preventive Actions
To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Physically they will be walking, sitting, and standing for the work day.
This person will be directly and indirectly responsible for many projects simultaneously. This person must have the ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks as necessary to fill the roles and responsibilities of the position.
Communication skills required are verbal, written, and demonstration skills. Grammar and spelling are important to the professional image of this position. The person in this position will have to make presentations to management, customers, colleagues and subordinates for purposes of informing, persuading and negotiating. These presentations may be written or verbal. They may occur in person, or remotely via telephone or video conference.
Travel is occasionally required. Reasons may include and are not limited to: attending meetings with corporate staff and company colleagues, customer contacts, and vendors. Overseas travel may be required periodically for customer service and new model business development purposes.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree in engineering or industrial technical field along with 4 years industrial / engineering technology work experience; or Equivalent level of education and work experience in related fields (Maintenance, Electrician, Controls, plant engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering); or A combination of education and experience that is acceptable to company management. And 4 years of experience in industrial setting with examples of demonstrated application of skills and knowledge directly related to the roles and responsibilities of this position.
