Ensure a safe, secure, clean and functional environment for our visitors and co-workers. Maintain the building, mechanical operating systems non selling furniture, interior and exterior in “shape as new” to promote the image and brand of IKEA.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your main tasks will include: Contribute to maintain store in “Shape as new” by performing building maintenance functions according to the Planned maintenance process Complete work orders and preventative maintenance as scheduled Act upon building, grounds, and maintenance inspections Be a contact point with various external service providers Implement Facility department routines and procedures, both preventive and reactive Work in an efficient and simple way in order to maximize efficiency within the dept. Be a contributor to provide a safe work environment for all, by following: local, state, federal and IKEA Risk guidelines Foster a “Service” oriented approach with all departments Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include: Knowledge/Experience: Mechanical aptitude with Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC knowledge Energy management systems knowledge with emphasis on conservation Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics Knowledge of fire and security systems Multi tasking skills Computer literacy relating to Building automation, fire panels, computerized maintenance management systems Interest in home furnishings Ability to lift min 50 lbs. (25 kg) 1-3 years proven experience in a building maintenance environment, preferably large box retail. Capabilities/Motivation: High volume, fast paced retail environment Emergency response may be required on 24-hour basis Required to climb ladders, enter restricted areas and potentially hazardous situations Able to work in inclement weather conditions Ability to work in a self directed work environment to resolve problems and complete tasks in a timely manner Additional Information Work Location: Fast-paced, deadline driven, high volume retail store Physical/Mental Demands (Essential Functions): Ability to access and observe all areas of the store. Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress.
