SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting the electrical, PLC and computer functions in the facility. Job duties will include, but not be limited to, all maintenance activities on the plant site including an effective preventive maintenance program; repairs to equipment and the ability to troubleshoot all plant equipment with minimum down time occurring; the operation of all utility systems at the plant site.

Education: Prefer an Associate degree in Electronics; certificate with 2 years in the field is acceptable; special training, certification programs, vocational school, military training and/or colleges may be considered in lieu of degree. Experience: Extensive background in electronic and electrical trouble shooting, to include proficient use of various meters, testing devices, testing programs, voltmeters, mega meters and laptop PC use; knowledge in PLC operations, including but notlimited to Modicon and Allen Bradley; ability to follow ladder logic; strong knowledge of in-motion scales, bench scales, platform scales, crane/storage/retrieval systems and large scale metal detection units. Computer Skills: Day to day use of computer networking and setup are essential; ability to set up ports, wire Cat 6 cable, along with an understanding of routers, hubs and switches; requires basic computer skills in order to produce spreadsheets, letters or creating simple queries in Excel and Word. Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in all areas of communication; verbal, written and reading. Some examples, but not all inclusive, are: giving verbal feedback to supervisors, otherdepartments and co-workers; compiling written reports of projects; comprehending books and diagrams, etc. that will assist the tech in daily operations; must be able to communicate over the radio. Physical Requirements/Environment: Climbing and frequent exposure to temperature change conditions within and outside the facility throughout the course of the day; must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds. Special Skills: Ability to run conduit and pull wire; understand and be able to determine substitute components to affect emergency repairs using alternate but same function parts. ,,
