A supportive service agency on Chicago’s mid-south side whose mission is to promote a holistic agenda for the homeless, low and moderate income residents to enable them to rebuild their lives. The Maintenance Supervisor will report to Facility Manager. He/she is responsible for maintaining all physical aspects of the building plant including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, carpentry, roof and plumbing, (current facility also includes swimming pool). Manages, leads, and develops supervision, training, and support to janitorial staff to ensure timely and accurate repair of equipment and upkeep of the facilities. Provide leadership and training tools for the maintenance department to increase overall competencies. Mandatory Job Qualifications

Maintain preventive maintenance and troubleshoot air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems, maintain and troubleshoot electrical appliances and fixtures, perform minor rough and finish carpentry, maintain plumbing fixtures & systems, conduct quality apartment and building inspections with Facility Manager, perform on-call duties regarding emergencies, attend all building meetings and required training classes as indicated by the Facility Manager, complete purchase order forms when appropriate, responsible for stock on hand, ordering, and re-ordering of all materials, supplies, etc., managing the annual fiscal budget, following preventive maintenance schedules, maintaininn building in manner consistent with building codes and in a “tour ready” condition at all times, supervise janitorial staff

Certificate in HVAC and Refrigeration, Certificate in general Maintenance Courses by HUD of National Center Housing Management or equivalent is a plus, Stationary Engineer License is also a plus, minimum of 4 years experience working with maintaining multi unit buildings with 50 or more units.
