Experience is preferred

Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate basis maintenance knowledge and ability to use common power/hand tools. Previous maintenance experience preferred, but not required. Ability to respond the the needs of the hospital with flexibility of scheduled hours worked. Must have valid IL. drivers license with good driving record. Must be able to speak and understand English. Customer service orientation. Solid, verifiable work history.
PLEASE NOTE - This is an entry level position into the union career track of Stationary Engineer.
Physical Demands : Requires the abilities to spend a large portion of the workday walking or standing. Must be able to stoop, bend and squat and lift, push and pull materials or equipment weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Performs work indoors and and outdoors, and is exposed to extreme temperature, dust and heights. Exposed to moderately severe accidents or health hazards frequently.
Duties : Performs corrective/preventative maintenance tasks as directed on a variety of Facilities; equipment and /or systems. Maintains cleanliness of Facilities' mechanical areas, grounds and courtyards. Provides relief for Care-A-Van programs driver as necessary.
