Must drive motorized vehicles, safely and properly operate a wide array of mechanical equipment
• Manipulate hand and power tools with routine frequency
• Operate and repair a wide array of mechanical equipment including but not limited to wine production equipment, bottling line systems, electrical, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, pumps, small motors and mechanical devices, carpentry, welding and other technical tools and trades associated with repair and maintenance of winery systems, buildings and infrastructure
• Must be capable of trouble-shooting and problem solving with limited assistance.
• Must be able to work independently maintaining positive working relationships in a team environment
• Must have strong verbal communication skills
• Must be capable of reading and writing technical manuals
• Follow safety procedures set forth by company safety department
• Able to read plans and specifications, and prepare computer based periodical maintenance programs, and readily disseminate work orders to a crew of professional technicians
• Establish solid working relationships with sub-contractors and vendors
• Fork lift certification, or ability to certify a must
• Knowledge at an intermediate or higher level of computer programs such as Excel and Word is required. Also, willingness to continue training with new products as they become available to remain proficient
Requirements
• Winery Operations experience highly desirable
• Bottling line, welding, automotive repairs in particular farm equipment and/or diesel mechanics preferred
• Winery experience highly desirable
• At least one to two years of previous wine or beverage production experience preferred
• Project management experience a plus
• Certification in commercial kitchen operation, wastewater systems operation, and public water systems certification a plus
• Professional associations such as trade organization membership appreciated
• Must possess a High School diploma or GED, College degree highly desirable
• Valid California driver’s license
• Minimum of five years food or beverage industry packaging plant operations, or similar industrial environments required
• Minimum of five years of experience in one or more technical trades working in similar circumstances such as a mechanical plant, factory, or production facility required
