The Maintenance Lead will provide leadership and guidance to a team of maintenance employees under supervision of the department manager. They will ensure production schedules are met by scheduling and completing equipment PMs, allocating resources to equipment repairs to limit unscheduled downtime, and ensuring that a safe work environment is maintained. They will also maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex industrial machines.
In addition you will:
Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices and participation in EHS meetings, investigations, and audits
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and predictive maintenance requirements on machinery and mechanical equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Adjust functional parts or devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Draw or modify prints and schematics for equipment or equipment upgrades
Design / build equipment, jigs, and fixtures
Perform troubleshooting on PLC (Programmable Logic Control), ladder logic, and control circuits
Perform and document routine preventive and predictive maintenance
Evaluate processes and make recommendations for improvements
Provide assistance and training to other maintenance and department personnel as directed
Perform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
Associates Degree from an accredited college or university OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of related experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment
Minimum of 5 years of additional experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting PLC (Programmable Logic Control) operation and programming, Ladder Logic, and Control Circuits
Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining web-handling equipment
Knowledge of electrical principles and control circuits
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings with orthogonal projections
Machining (Lathe and Mill) and welding (MIG / TIG) skills
Ability to use hand tools and basic machine shop equipment
Computer skills, including the ability to prepare charts and graphs in Excel
Hands on experience with maintenance management / scheduling software
High attention to detail, good powers of observation
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills
Willingness to be flexible with working different shifts and overtime requirements
Ability to work independently, take initiative, troubleshooting and resolving issues with little or no assistance
Ability to learn, understand and follow all policies, practices and procedures
Provides own common hand tools
