Responsibilities:
We are searching for a proactive, collaborative, experienced, Maintenance Manager , who thrives in a hands-on role. This individual will identify opportunities for maintenance driven improvements , create, implement and sustain new program initiatives, and ensure the maintenance team continues to develop their skills through training. Our ideal candidate will interact with Engineering and all levels of maintenance personnel and must be a charismatic supervisor with excellent people skills. Ideal candidate will have background and experience in manufacturing maintenance, and quickly develops a positive and motivating work environment within the Maintenance team where your reports want to perform at their absolute best, and take pride in what they do in support of the overall success at KIK Memphis. Demonstrated strengths in team building, goal setting, training and negotiating are your keys to success in this position.
Immediate expectations in this role are to acclimate and integrate your leadership into the Maintenance Department, develop key relationships with the Production and Engineering departments, and familiarize yourself with the required PM, Work Order and line maintenance needs of this 13 line packaging plant. As you progress you will begin to identify gaps, improve efficiencies and develop training to increase and develop skill levels of your team. This position requires a manager who is capable of capturing and balancing work order / line maintenance and preventative maintenance by managing conflicting priorities, juggling competing priorities and providing needed maintenance services to both areas.
Leading candidates will have worked side by side with skilled labor, participated in, led or assisted in developing maintenance programs or implementation of maintenance projects. This position reports to the Operations Manager, KIK Memphis.
Primary Responsibilities :
Directs Line Maintenance Operations and Shift Maintenance Supervisors reporting to this position.
Develops and maintains a strong line maintenance supervisor group and lead mechanic system
Develops and follows an improved line maintenance qualification process
Coordinates line maintenance changeovers to meet production schedule and customer requirements.
Works with CI Engineer to monitor production efficiencies and work toward improved rates and staffing levels.
Continuous development and support of our Computerized Maintenance Management System. (Downtime, PM’s, Planned Maintenance, Training, etc.)
Prioritizes major equipment problem areas and develop approaches to address identified situations and improve performance.
Works with Scheduling and Engineering to meet all new line improvement upgrades.
Delivers equipment/maintenance capabilities for new product quotes.
Ensures that all GMP’s are maintained in the production area.
Oversee and direct preventative maintenance program and work on equipment.
Coordinates activities of mechanical group in production department
Works closely with maintenance trainer and PM scheduler to develop and ensure appropriate training and PM procedures are followed.
Maintains process documentation system and sees that system is continually updated.
Routinely and formally reviews personnel supervised concerning their performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field and or equivalent work experience or a combination of work experience and education that would be equivalent to bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
7-10 years background and experience in Manufacturing Maintenance equipment, facilities and maintenance programs.
5 years of your work experience must be in a supervisory capacity leading a team of 5 or more direct reports or maintenance personnel, evaluating skill-sets, planning maintenance, scheduling and assigning project work.
Although any manufacturing maintenance experience in any packaging / manufacturing industry is acceptable, a background in a liquid filling & packaging facility is a significant advantage.
Experience in or knowledge of World Class Maintenance practices including autonomous maintenance, predictive maintenance, computerized maintenance management systems, TPM, GMP, etc.
Demonstrated record of progression in career over last 7 to 10 years
Self-organized, Self-motivated; Ability to work independent of supervision.
Good computer skills, with strength in Word and Excel
High energy, good communicator – decisive, a motivator of others and innovative
