This senior plant level Plant Maintenance leader is responsible for approximately $14 million in annual maintenance spend and leads a organization of 90 plus employees. This role partners and teams with the sites Production and Environmental Health and Safety Leadership to meet the key elements of the sites annual operating plan. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Environmental Health and Safety:
Leads all aspects of maintenance environmental health and safety activities including oversight of certifications, awareness, behavior, specialized programs, Crane, Rigging, and lifting safety, compliance with OSHA regulations, incident investigation, and special assignments as needed for the safety and welfare of functional employees as well as for all site employees.
Coaching and Mentoring:
The Maintenance Manager assists the maintenance team with strategic and tactical engineering and maintenance guidance and support. Inclusive of coaching on the establishment and execution of functional priorities.
As the functional head ensure the Preventative Maintenance Program is using contemporary engineering technologies. Including maintaining PM's at 100% as the standard.
Maintenance Repair Execution:
Team and coach as necessary with the Maintenance Area Leader to oversee the execution and completion of repair and replacement work. Partner to assure plant operational integrity while remaining responsible for cost effectiveness.
Salaried Employee Administration:
Position is responsible for salaried compensation and performance administration including staffing and hiring employees. Aligns goals and objectives with the goals and objectives of the business while setting vision and developmental targets for the day to day maintenance organization.
Leads and confers as necessary with the Maintenance Team on collective bargaining agreement matters for all maintenance hourly employees, including grievance administration, arbitrations, disciplinary activities, contract negotiations and negotiations preparation as well as Code of Conduct Administration.
Management Team Member:
Teams and partners with site management to support other site operations and managers as part of an aligned partnership.
Must have a solid financial understanding given budget and cost responsibility for $6 million in Direct Labor and $11 million in maintenance stores, parts and materials.
Minimum of ten years manufacturing experience in a process safety management environment.
Minimum of five years of leadership experience.
Strong personal commitment to safety coupled with knowledge and formal training on OSHA Standards, Plant Standards, Corporate Standards and HAZOP fundamentals. .
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing maintenance systems and techniques as well as SAP, Microsoft Office Tools, and contemporary sound engineering maintenance practices.
Knowledge of plant preventative maintenance practices from both and Engineering and practical application of the methods and tools.
Ability to lead and measure the performance effectiveness of day to day activities of a multifunctional organization.
Knowledge and experience of Company salary and performance tools. Ability to lead and coach in a positive and constructive way. Can accept and use constructive feedback to influence and align others.
Experience working with Unions within a union manufacturing environment.
Strong values and integrity with team inclinations and training.
SAP and LEAN experience.
Effective track record managing others.
Lean training preferred
