General Maintenance Mechanic (Plant Operations)
Statement of Primary Purpose
The General Maintenance Mechanic performs highly skilled maintenance and repair. Plumbing, heating/cooling, carpentry, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and painting; familiar with blue prints reading, standard concepts, practices, codes and procedures; performs advanced technical duties; responds to emergencies during off-duty times as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Must be able to work closely in conjunction with the Facilities Manager, members of the custodial staff, and other members of the maintenance staff.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Follow through to completion of work orders.
- Periodic reports dealing with preventative maintenance, inspections, inventory and time sheet.
- Must be able to work closely and direct inmates.
- Occasionally assist with set-up and clean up of College events.

Knowledge and Skills
