.Position Scope: Under minimal supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic IV, performs a wide variety of skilled mechanical duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and modify equipment and facilities. Provides work leadership, guidance and technical assistance to lesser skilled mechanics. Position Responsibilities: Duties/ResponsibilitiesPerforms periodic inspections by checking equipment condition and settings before, during and after production to assure equipment is maintained and properly adjusted. Analyzes, detects, and determines the nature of the problem and the extent of the repairs required. Troubleshoots and selects materials needed for the repairs.Prepares reporting documentation as required.Replaces, refits and assembles parts. Installs, maintains, rebuilds and repairs a wide variety of production equipment needed to maintain optimal performance and high quality product.Notifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken and root cause of problems or supplies needed. Makes recommendations for improvement.Operate machine tools and perform necessary welding and sheet metal operations required in repairing equipment or making up guards, brackets and supports.Assists the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of preventive maintenance programs.Provides technical assistance, guidance and work leadership to the maintenance team as needed.Follows and enforces company safety policies and procedures at all times.All other duties as requested or assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
.EducationAssociates degree and/or journey level certification required. Knowledge/SkillsStrong problem solving and decision making capabilities.Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill press, and other related industrial repair equipmentDemonstrate a solid level of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude and be able to lift, pull, and carry heavy objects.Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as but not limited to: shop practices and procedures, diagnostic technique and equipment, and Cal-OSHA safety requirements.Strong computer literacy: Microsoft Office required, SAP enterprise software preferred. Work Experience3 years of industrial maintenance mechanic experienceLicenses or CertificatesWelding Certification highly desired
