Inspects and repairs boiler fittings such as safety valves, regulators, automatic control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines such as pumps, fans, stokers, silos, conyevors and other boiler related equipment
Patches boiler hot spots with insulations and performs boiler maintenance.
Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts and replace defective parts with new part or repair parts.
Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
Maintain and complete MP2 work orders for inventory and work order history.
Cleans and paints boiler and auxiliary equipment.
Interprets specifications from blue prints, work orders and equipment.
Perform preventative and or corrective mechanical maintenance on plant equipment.
Report equipment problems that jeopardize plant operations or safety to the Production Support Manager and/or Operations Supervisor.
Clean areas after maintenance work has been completed and for maintaining the maintenance shop in a clean and orderly manner.
Perform monthly vibration analysis using SKF Microlog MVA60 vibration analyzer.
Observe plant safety procedures, guidelines and rules as job functions are performed.
Be available for duty status and call-ins for emergency work.
In addition to the normal workday/work week, position may require to work overtime.
May be assigned further responsibility including, but not limited to, certain maintenance/housekeeping and administrative items as deemed appropriate by plant management.
Perform maintenance on all equipment for shutdowns and routine maintenance.
Keep maintenance tools in good, sound working order and Issue purchase requisition for supplies as necessary.
Perform maintenance and upkeep on grounds equipment.
Perform machine alignment with laser alignment or dial indicators.
Assist in training of personnel on specific equipment
Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
Acts as a team member with all employees of GDF SUEZ Energy staff
Complies with all GDF SUEZ Energy policies and procedures
Complies with all GDF SUEZ policies and procedures; all site and corporate safety rules and procedures
Carries out other duties as assigned
Essential Physical Abilities
Ability to respond to plant emergencies; carry pager or be accessible by cell phone for emergency call-ins to work anytime day or night to correct problems.
Ability to work overtime as required to maintain equipment availability.
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell.
Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Candidate will be required to supply all personal hand tools pertaining to the requirements of their job.
Ability to pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test.
Ability to perform first aid and CPR.
Ability to use personal computer, calculator, Word, Excel, etc.
Could involve some lifting and/or be able to move up to 50 pounds of weight.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
Candidate will be self motivated and able to perform work related functions on their own.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such a discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Candidate within one year will live within a twenty-five mile radius of the plant.
One year certificate from college or technical school or 5-10 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience dealing with power plant equipment.
Possess in-depth knowledge of power generating equipment and technology.
Must possess welding and fabrication skills. If the candidate is not already certified in pipe welding the candidate will be expected to obtain certification within 2 years of hire.
Prior experience and working knowledge in the use of lathes and Bridgeport’s is a plus.
