Monitor backlog of work requests to address priority problems in an efficient manner.
Assure that work orders are properly planned and coordinated.
Maintain and update PM program to be sure the work is current and effective.
Review completed work orders to update equipment histories and develop model work orders.
Plan and prioritize outage work for fast and efficient response.
Coordinate maintenance work with Operations, Stores and Plant Management.
Utilize project-planning software to create and maintain project and outage plans.
Create and maintain equipment bill of materials of database.
Preplan materials and clearances to facilitate efficient maintenance.
Assist Plant Maintenance Manager on plant equipment budgets as required.
Proven planning and organization ability.
The ability to solve problems and take the initiative to identify and improve maintenance planning and material resources.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Familiar with all power plant systems and equipment
Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management principles.
Effective in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with
Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to effectively communicate with staff at all levels.
Exercise sound judgment and decision making skills.
Ability to multi-task and tolerate interruptions.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Knowledge of general safety and environmental rules and regulations
Preferred two year applied associates or technical degree and 5 years relevant plant experience or a high school education or equivalent with10 years of plant experience, and general knowledge of operational maintenance experience.
40 hour work week with the ability to change schedule and work overtime on an as needed basis
Vision to read printed materials and a computer screens for a long period of time
Stooping, crouching or kneeling required to perform many job tasks
Requires lifting of 40 pounds overhead and 75 pounds from the floor to 36 inches
Respirator may be required
Must be able to distinguish colors
Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work on elevated platforms
Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, hear and walk.
Exposed to hazards associated with coal power plant such as dust, fumes, high pressure steam, high temperatures and confined spaces and subject to external environmental conditions such as cold, heat, noise and fumes from equipment or chemicals.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
