Maintains operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following operations manuals and manufacturer's instructions. Troubleshoots malfunctions with refrigeration equipment, compressors by discussing problems with operators; observing devices in operation and resolving issues.
Repairs equipment by dismantling devices, replacing or adjusting functional parts of devices, using hand and power tools. Documents inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses, and removals of items.
Maintains inventory by cleaning, organizing, arranging storage areas. Performs moves and installation by contacting requestor for information; confirming date, time, and location; moving, delivering, or relocating furniture, equipment or items.
Coordinates work process by providing schedules, access, and supervision to vendors and contractors; verifying work completion; supervising student workers.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Maintains staff confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required High school diploma or GED equivalent
Required 1 year experience repairing electrical equipment
Required Valid Texas driver’s license; must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle requirements;
satisfactory results from a post-offer physical examination
Required Skill in repairing malfunctions in electrical devices; ability to operate tools and equipment required for the job; ability to clearly communicate information; ability to coordinate projects; knowledge to train and lead staff; knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures; knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose problems; knowledge of refrigeration equipment and compressors; knowledge of customer service techniques; basic knowledge of computer software; knowledge of building codes; knowledge of safety regulations.
