Description

The Maintenance Specialist maintains site equipment, utilities and infrastructure. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and reparation of site machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping and electrical systems by performing the following duties. Maintenance Specialists must be able to analyze root cause failure and present options and recommendations for specific equipment within their area of responsibility. Specialists must be able to lead project teams and provide both technical and project instruction to Facility teammates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and coordinate work within the specific area of specialty. First level of contact between specialty area and outside departments.

Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on site equipment and machinery.

Respond to service requests for equipment and system. Able to identify, recommend countermeasures and resolve most abnormality conditions in their area.

Installation, relocation, dismantling and repair of machines and equipment, including new and repaired parts. Include wiring and utility tie-ins, safety checks and start-up functions.

Operate a variety of tools and equipment within the context of these duties, including but not limited to, lifting systems, cutting torches, welding equipment and monitoring devices.

Provide instruction and support to other team members in areas of specialty.

Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offer suggestions and make improvements that assist in achieving the department's performance board metrics.

Electrical:
Repair and maintain physical structure and infrastructure of establishment.

Installation, relocation, reconfiguring and dismantling of crane and hoist systems.

Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, and other electrical equipment.

Construction:
Repair and maintain physical structure and infrastructure of establishment.

Production Maintenance:
Installation, relocation, reconfiguring and dismantling of crane and hoist systems.

Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

Qualifications

2 year technical degree with 5 years experience preferred; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Read blueprints.

Write routine reports and intra-department communications.

Calculate figures and apply concepts of fractions, percentages and ratios.

Apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and statistical quality control.

Effectively present information verbally and written and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customer, and dealers.

Perform basic Microsoft Office skills, CAD and other software.

Perform problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.

Learn to operate the CMM.

Perform multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action for a given situation.

Ability to read, interpret and instruct others on issues such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to train others in niche areas.
