Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain consists of 11 businesses that operate on an integrated global basis. We source, trade, process and distribute grain and oilseeds. The main bulk products handled are wheat, corn, oilseeds, barley and sorghum, as well as vegetable oils, meals and ethanol. This group works closely Cargill's ocean freight logistics business.
Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain employs 20,000 people in 46 countries. We operate 245 interior silos, 28 import/export elevators, 62 crush plants and palm oil plantations in Indonesia. It also encompasses three vegetable oil refineries and numerous joint ventures.
Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain has developed significant expertise in handling identity-preserved and differentiated products that sustain their distinctiveness in overseas markets. Close cooperation with our Trade and Structured Finance business unit, and the company's risk management teams adds a further range of financial and hedging products to the products and services offered.
Directly responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly work execution for the mechanical maintenance department. Directs and manages a team of 10-15 Cargill mechanical maintenance technicians and various outside contractors. Responsible for development, growth and training of these individuals. Responsible for daily work coordination with the production team and execution of the weekly work schedule.
50% Supervision of Mechanical and Contract technicians including preventative and reactive work.
20% Troubleshoot causes of plant equipment problems and oversees coordination of proactive and reactive activities on a day to day basis. Eliminates defects through continuous improvements and root cause analysis.
10% Communicates and builds expected capabilities and expertise of the maintenance and operational Team through the Cargill PMP and other development programs.
10% Capital Effectiveness: Utilizing the project commitment process develops the scope and execute on the projects you are assigned. This process includes; seeking out engineering as needed, identifying the materials & labor required utilizing the bid process, over-seeing the contractors who are awarded the project and ensuring the projects specifications were met and financials are brought to a close
10% Coordinates and drives all Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, including all interactions with outside regulatory and inspection agencies.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline OR 5+ years equivalent maintenance experience.
Minimum 2+ years maintenance management, engineering, or production management
Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and customers
Ability to take off-hour calls and rotate weekend coverage with facility staff as needed
Advanced Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, CMMS, etc.)
Ability to effectively manage change.
Ability to make independent decisions
Working knowledge of applied precision maintenance practices.
Working knowledge with Environmental Health and Safety
Strong organizational, leadership and planning skills
Strong team player
SMRP CMRP certification
Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technology (vibration, oil, infrared, ultrasonic analysis, etc.)
Ability to work with a wide variety of work styles including customers and co-workers at all levels
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak candidly and provide constructive feedback
Working knowledge of grain handling equipment
Working knowledge of Maximo or other asset management system and scheduling experience
