Columbia Vista Corporation is seeking a full-time Millwright Supervisor.


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Millwright Supervisor in a heavy industrial environment; Sawmill experience preferred.
  • Ability to trouble shooting hydraulics, electrical and pneumatics.
  • Change out & rebuild hydraulic cylinders, gearboxes and electrical motors.
  • Be able to develop and sustain a Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, repairs, welding, and installation on all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility on a daily basis.
  • Must be assertive, a good communicator and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and have good decision making skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership skills and set a positive example.

Job Functions:

  • Learn and know all CVC personnel, safety, and work place rules and policies; enforce these on a firm, fair and consistent basis.
  • Confront and correct inappropriate behavior and/or performance of employees and recognize and reward employees for good performance, appropriate behavior and adherence to CVC policies.
  • Work to motivate personnel on the crew as leader and coach in order to maximize productivity while continually training to help them improve in their roles.
  • Assume supervisory responsibility for the maintenance crew’s daily actions.
  • Report all problems, potential maintenance issues and solutions to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Be an active member of the QMS, Safety, or EMS committee.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility on a daily basis.

Working with Management:

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager in all daily, weekly and monthly aspects of maintenance, planning and personnel matters.
  • Keep in constant communication with all maintenance personnel, Maintenance and Production Supervisors and Maintenance and Production Managers.
  • Work with management on employee development.
  • Make recommendations and provide input to management when required regarding personnel, hiring, evaluations and training.

Training and Development:

  • Prepare, review with managers, and conduct 30 day, 90 day and annual performance duets for all maintenance positions; develop training plans to help meet goals and objectives from the duets. Keep these training plan updated.
  • Follow up with employees and management on the thoroughness and completeness of each training plan.
