Maintenance Technician 2

Responsibilities

:

Summary of Position

:

Primary responsible to repair, maintain and perform routine maintenance on production and packaging equipment. Plant utilities, plant service equipment, building, grounds and misc other

Key Responsibilities

: Technician 1 plus a higher degree of competency in all multi-craft skills

Electrical:
Perform electrical troubleshooting, read’s electrical diagrams and symbols.

Able to read and write advanced electrical schematics must be able to read P& ID drawings, use handheld voltage meter, oscilloscopes, ammeters, etc.

Mechanical

:

Responsible to install special functional and structural parts in devices. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instrumentation.

Maintains and repairs air compressors, air dryers, gas systems, alarm system, water and vacuum systems, etc. Follows Preventive Maintenance Instructions and ensures that the records for such are properly documented

PLC’s:
Read and interprets PLC programs. Trouble-shoot problems in PLC hardware and software.

Fabrication

:

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

Conduct periodic inspections to determine required maintenance work flow. Design/Build complex parts as needed for plant using all mill wright tools (lathe, index mill, welding, press, bender, etc.)

Heating/Cooling

:

Advanced air conditioning and heating circuits, trouble shooting and repair chillers and air dryers

Mobile Equipment:
Maintain maintenance records for each piece of equipment

Project

s:

Must be well rounded maintenance person and must have knowledge and experience in areas of troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatics and electrical motion control components

Leadership:
Be able to listen and direct small groups. Be able to take the initiative to solve problems with innovative solutions. Begin to take on the role of the mini project manager and execute or delegate tasks to complete assignments, work inside of the safety program with performance of JSA and safety huddles.

Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time on concrete floors

Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel and climb ladders and staircases.

Must be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs.

Must be able operate mobile equipment and drive company vehicles

Must be able to work in confined spaces

Must be able to crawl, kneel, and bend awkwardly to access difficult machine parts

Must be able to work at elevated heights (on ladders, boom lifts, rooftop etc.)

Must be able to work overtime as needed and have a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications

:

Minimal 3 + years experience as maintenance mechanic out a manufacturing environment

Must have a basic background in electrical and PLC's

Possess an understanding of preventive, predictive

SAP or Other ERP System Experience

Intermediate math plus algebra and geometry

Strong Interpersonal Skills

Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal)

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

Intermediate Computer skills including Microsoft office

Solid Decision Making Skills

Use of Statistics for problem solving and process monitoring
