OVERALL FOCUS

To ensure the continuous operation of the production facility by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities. Ensure that assigned Maintenance Technicians are completing work in a timely fashion and are adhering to all Safe Quality Food, Personal Safety and Sanitation standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Executes daily and weekly workload plans to accomplish established tasks provided by Maintenance Manager
    • Maintains constant communication with Production A-Leads
    • Execute established training plans for maintenance personnel
    • Audits the work of those reporting to you for both training and adherence to set standards
    • Strive to achieve team productivity measurements while maintaining a high level of focus to quality
    • Keep work zones in an audit ready manner
    • Provides feedback to Maintenance Technicians not following Standard Operating Procedures, or Safety and Sanitation practices and policies.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment and facilities
    • Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors and adjusts equipment as necessary
    • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with operators and other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
    • Performs electrical troubleshooting and makes modifications to existing programs
    • Reads and interprets blueprints, program listings, schematics and mechanical and wiring diagrams
    • Drafts and modifies blueprints, program listings, schematics and mechanical and wiring diagrams
    • Wires electrical motors
    • Proactive in detecting and correcting machine performance problems
  • Performs all preventative and scheduled maintenance as assigned
    • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears and bearings or repairs machine belts.
    • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Insures that all safety devices are installed and operational
  • Installs equipment and completes projects as assigned
    • Lay out hard wiring for projects
    • Ensures that work is completed according to schedule
  • Follow all lock out/tag out procedures
    • Contact appropriate person to lock out necessary areas
    • Lock out equipment where trained- contact maintenance as needed
  • Ensures that the AINSWORTH Food Safety program is adhered to
    • Ensures that all SOP’s are being followed
    • Informs Maintenance Manager or A-Lead of any food safety problems
    • Follows all safety procedures
    • Serves as the designee for the Maintenance and Facility Manager in dealing with reported food safety issues or maintenance of the SQF system.
    • Alerts Maintenance Manager or A-Lead for need to update or modify SOP’s based on needed changes to the processes
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions
    • Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification
    • Take and document required process, quality measures
    • Meet or exceed established targets
    • Adhere to all sanitation procedures
  • Follow all GMP’s
    • Keep process areas clean and neat
    • Ensure all buildings meet sanitation requirements
    • Reports all infestation and rodent problems to the Corporate Sanitarian
    • Adheres to sanitation procedures
  • Actively participate as a member of the AINSWORTH Safety Program
    • Follow all safety procedures
    • Report all unsafe actions and conditions

QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives)

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED
Certifications/Licenses: None
Experience: 3 years experience in troubleshooting and repairing PLC's and other equipment in a production facility.
