      Description
      SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities for all equipment and facilities related to the manufacture of Caterpillar Diesel engines. Maintenance Technicians report to Section Managers and will be assigned to areas within the business to meet customer and company demands.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      ·


      Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery, including but not limited to building and machine, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and electrical work.
      ·
      Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair plant equipment and machinery as needed to facilitate meeting customer requirements, including but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and electrical work.
      ·
      Identify and track key metrics related to assigned department or function
      ·
      Identify process improvement opportunities, continuous review of plant operations to keep team focused on key priorities and improvement objectives
      ·
      Provide follow up / tracking for process improvement accomplishments to ensure improvements are sustained
      ·
      Submit and assist with the resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
      ·
      Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions
      ·
      Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area
      ·
      Complete maintenance documentation
      ·
      Perform all other duties as assigned

      Qualifications
      QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

      Demonstrated ability in the following:

      P.L.C. troubleshooting

      Precision measuring and diagnostic equipment operation

      Use of welders, acetylene torches and brazing or soldering equipment

      Knowledge of building and machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical operations and repair and necessary tools

      Experience with Tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders

      Knowledge of required lubricating and cooling fluids

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED preferred. Production and/or assembly experience preferred.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence and procedures. Must be able to effectively present information in one-to-one or group situations, to customers, clients and other employees of the organization

      MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

      REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions written, oral, diagrams or schedule form.

      Required to lift/carry up to 52lbs. occasionally

      Required to push/pull up to a maximum force of 180 lbs. occasionally
      WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. Work requires possible exposure to all temperature changes, high noise levels, working around moving equipment, electrical hazards, tanks, heights, fumes, chemicals, vibrations, dust, etc. Working hours must be flexible with the ability to work on all shifts and extended hours as required.       experience designing and building Creform racksexperience designing and building mini-tech racks Installation of pick to light

      Rebuild hitches for Hovair materials carts

      Repair Hovair materials carts

      Certified Forklift operator

      Repair and maintain industrial Tricycles

      Operate electric and pneumatic power tools

      Maintain pallet jacks

      Plex work order process
