Eberspaecher Exhaust Technology of The Americas is a full-service Tier I automotive supplier, assuming complete responsibility for the conception, development and production of automotive exhaust systems. We began our North American operations in the year 2000. Currently we have six manufacturing sites, a state of the art Technical Center and over 1000 + employees. As we forge ahead, building on our presence in North America, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Greenville, SC facility.
Support production by keeping robots and auotmated machinery at levels they were originally designed to perform. Troubleshoot, adjust and teach robots software and/or path programming to meet operational needs and increase productivity while reducing cycle time.
Responsibilities Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and document maintenance activities. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate shaft, bearing, gear, and other parts of machinery. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all (production and facility) equipment. Assist in tool, fixture, material flow and changeovers. Also assist in continuous improvements of those areas. Practice safe use of hand and machine tools, i.e. grinders, saws, lathes and mills. Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting problems of all equipment Practice safe use of hand and machine tools, i.e. grinders, saws, lathes and mills. Responsible for maintaining 5S in department and periodically participating with audit process. Troubleshoot push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant when robotic equipment is out of sync, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs. Prepare and adjust robot programs and automated welding parameters. Analyze robotically welded product to determine the adjustments to be made to the robot program and welding parameters. Assist in tool, fixture, and material flow and continuous improvements for those areas. Work with Controls Engineering and escalate/recommend robot software/programming to aid in chronic reliability problems and meet needs .
Qualifications Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; five years related experience and/or training in a maintenance role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years robotic programming experience using Motoman or Siemen’s . Three years of experience working in an industrial automated enviornment .
Technical Expertise Motoman Robotics XRC and/or NX Programming and/or DX Programming and/or Siemens and/or Allen Bradley. Advanced skills in welding and metal forming techniques and processes Assists in the development and troubleshooting of programs for preferably Motoman robots or other 6 Axis Industrial Robots as to customize the robot’s movement accordingly . Troubleshoot synchronized programs for systems. Understand and apply all aspects of Manual and Automated Welding including MIG and TIG. Knowledgeable on PLC and electrical diagrams and Motoman robot programming Understands MIG welding process and demonstrated skill. Must have significant capacity for troubleshooting and root cause analysis . Ability to read and analyze technical schematics and blueprints. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word, Outlook.
