Control the efficient operation of all plant equipment by assisting with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electrical repair.
Perform specific preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, mechanical and electrical repair, electrical installations and machine wiring and other tasks and techniques to keep electrical systems in operational condition to meet production, refrigeration, building and grounds, and shipping needs with the direct guidance and supervision of fellow associates and shift lead.
Troubleshoot high voltage circuit problems to appropriate solution, and physically repairing equipment to meet Production needs. Share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/ principles to other maintenance personnel.
Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment in performing tasks to assure their own safety and that of co-workers; works in safe manner at all times; performing tasks within guidelines of good maintenance techniques and applicable codes.
Assure preventative maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment and report and qualify results.
Perform welding, cutting, and soldering using electric and gas equipment to appropriate skill level.
Read equipment manuals, blueprints, and other sources of information to build knowledge, and assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment.
Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime
Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufactures.
Inform the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would effect there area of operation.
Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
Perform any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Production Management.
Apply all GMP requirements, both personal hygiene and housekeeping, associates with these tasks. Keeps works areas clean at all times, in line with plant procedures on housekeeping, waste water, and solids management.
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred
3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
Must be able to pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment
Possess basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/ building maintenance welding, machining, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, drafting and blueprint reading knowledge
General mechanical skills and knowledge relate to troubleshooting and service of various equipment.
Knowledge of power and tools
Will be exposed to plant production environment, indoors and outdoors
Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity
Employee regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility
Must be able to list 50lbs
May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials
Works in high noise area, hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements
Occasional testing of energized electrical equipment
Previous experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Able to work multi shift environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
