GENCO has an opening for an Maintenance Technician at our Distribution Center located in Plainfield, Indiana. This is a 400,000 square foot facility operating 2 shifts with approximately 100 teammates.
The Maintenance Technician teammate is responsible for providing value to the customer, teammates and GENCO’s standards of safety, accuracy, security and productivity. Must be a productive contributor to the team and achieve all measurable goals including: safety, quality, productivity, SOP adherence, attendance and teamwork. Teammate will be required to perform other assignments in the warehouse when not performing their Maintenance duties. Must have experience in trades such as construction, plumbing, electrical, electronic and mechanical. Strong trouble shooting skills and performing Root Cause Analysis are a must. Demonstrate effective problem solving skills and be able to communicate to all levels of management.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the interior of the warehouse. This includes, but not limited to, ensuring that wall, columns, stairs, etc. are kept in good repair. Will also include ensuring interior lighting is kept in good working order, and performing necessary routine checks on emergency lighting.
Maintain the exterior of the facility, including the grounds in a clean professional image. Keep grounds free of litter and debris. Walkways, handrails and steps kept free of debris and clutter, and kept in good repair. Outside walls must be free of webs, nesting birds and other infestations.
Must be capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds and must be able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.
Must comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
Ensure adherence to all current SOP’s and load integrity standards.
Work safely and in compliance with all GENCO and facility Safety procedures and work rules.
Maintain the level of productivity set by GENCO.
Other duties as assigned by leadership team.
The Successful Candidate will have:
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Maintenance experience of 5+ years.
Strong electrical trouble shooting skills of control panels for automatic machinery such as photo eyes, relays and scanner controls. Ability to read electrical schematics is a plus.
Mechanical skills should include working knowledge of mechanical transfers applications such as but not limited to motor drives, servo motors, AC/DC drives, re-belting and lacing.
Strong working knowledge of conveyors and automated wrap machines is a plus.
Scanner programming and maintenance is required.
Experience in construction, HVAC and electrical is a plus.
Experience with maintenance of forklift trucks and batteries.
Prior experience working in an electronics wireless repair environment is a plus.
Self-starter skills and able to work independently.
Strong customer service skills.
Excelled in current position in safety, accuracy, productivity, and relate well to fellow teammates.
