Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Dept/ Work Area: Maintenance
Rate: $12.50-$20.00 /Hour
Hours: 2nd Shift; 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Location: 11100 W 82nd Street Lenexa, Kansas 66214
Repair and maintain all mechanical and electrical production equipment; inkjet filling machines, toner filling machines, conveyors, ultrasonic welders, bagging systems, foam in place systems and cleaning equipment.
Responsible to maintain all production equipment.
Maximize equipment reliability through using planned maintenance most effectively.
Troubleshoot, repair and replace mechanical and electrical components.
Maintain equipment information and repair files.
Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
Dismantle equipment to gain access to problem area.
Inspect and measures parts to detect wear, breakage or other problems.
Remove and replaces worn, broken or defective parts of machinery.
Realign and adjusts components of equipment to operating specifications.
Test repaired equipment to operational production level.
Repair broken parts as needed for replacement.
Must be able to operate metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press or grinder and wood working equipment to make or repair parts.
Construct benches and shelving for storage for inkjet production use.
Assist in building inkjet equipment for the production floor.
Ensure safety and housekeeping practices are followed.
To comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Care for company assets.
Perform duties as required.
Education/Experience: Less than High School education; Minimum three years of mechanical training from either college or vocational schooling. Two years manufacturing experience. Individual must be highly mechanical. Knowledge of CAD drawing systems helpful. Proficient in Microsoft email, Word and Excel skills required.
Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. Must be extremely organized, and able to work at a steady pace. Must have the ability to stay focused, while multitasking and to utilizing advanced problem solving skills. Position requires high emphasis on reliability and detail.
MINIMUM skills - Ability to read and interpret company documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures and maintenance instructions. The ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions, print, and clearly speak in complete sentences.
MINIMUM skills - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and the ability to calculate percentages. Ability to perform these operations using weights and measurements using American measurement and metrics system.
INTERMEDIATE skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly stands and walks, occasionally sits. Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly reach with hands and arms. Regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly talk or hear.
LIFTS WEIGHTS OR EXERTS FORCE
Regularly lifts up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
Regularly requires close vision (The ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less), peripheral vision (The ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes remain fixed on a given point), depth perception (Three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they actually are), ability to adjust focus (The ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This is required when doing close work at varying distances from the eye).
Prefer distance vision (The ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more), color vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors).
Regularly work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and work near moving mechanical parts. Regularly works around acceptable levels of fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic or caustic chemicals. Regularly exposed to vibration.
