Incumbent will report to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor. They will be responsible for providing services involving repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, and air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible. Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and/or fuses, washer and dryers as necessary. Install window shades or coverings, and security locks. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports. Perform repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers, seals, etc. Perform preventative maintenance checks of buildings and equipment. Perform routine checks of heating and air conditioning system. Assist in controlling use of supplies, facilities and equipment. Construct, remove or repair structural woodwork to adhere to building code. Replace damaged ceiling and floor tiles. Maintain and preserve old and new surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, filing, sealing and painting. Supervise students assigned to center work support and on-canter work-based learning. Provide transportation services as scheduled. Promote safety and health programs and comply with all OSHA and safety program requirements. Perform data entry in computerized maintenance management systems. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment. Support and promote center zero tolerance policies. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training and general knowledge of facility maintenance and three years related experience. Experience must include two years experience with HVAC. HVAC certification preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
