Phillips & Temro Industries is a leading engineer to manufacture organization with a diverse product line. Our expertise ranges from the design and manufacture of engine starting and comfort products for the automotive and heavy duty truck industries to the manufacture of engineered- to-order silencers and emissions products for the power generation, off-highway, and gas compression markets.
Under the direction of the Plant Manager or Supervisor, repair and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment, and PTI facilities. In addition to production support, this position supports manufacturing engineering and includes a limited amount of tooling and new machine assembly. Minimal local travel maybe required to other PTI facilities. Responsible for other tasks as assigned. Conduct business in accordance with company practices & policies in order to promote Phillips & Temro Industries’ public image.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Implement facilities improvement projects as assigned, and helps to coordinate internal resources with outside vendors when appropriate.
Effectively maintain and troubleshoot new and existing plant equipment while working with pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC’s, and other electrical components.
Set up, maintain and repair equipment to ensure safe operation.
Perform plumbing, HVAC and carpentry work as needed.
Specify repair parts and replace as needed.
Help maintain spare parts inventory.
Set-up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools and operate welding equipment to make and repair parts, tooling and equipment.
Work with manufacturing engineers in the development and construction of new jigs, fixtures, or automation equipment to increase throughput and reduce operating expenses through inventory or waste reduction.
Support all TS and Lean efforts in the plant.
Document, as required, procedures and instructions, in compliance with TS requirements.
Use maintenance support and SAP systems to track and evaluate work.
All other activities, which help to support the building, facilities, design, quality, and manufacturing operations of PTI.
Education: High School
Experience: 5 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing/maintenance technician environment
Education: Vocational/technologist degree in a related manufacturing discipline
Working knowledge of maintenance tracking system and use of ERP (SAP or other) systems.
Experience: Mature, energetic, self-disciplined individual with excellent hands on experience in a high to medium volume production facility who can work with minimum supervision. Willingness to work as a member of a team and a strong desire to meet and consistently exceed set forth expectations.
