Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Maintain and promote a safe work environment taking appropriate safety measures.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Maintain the plant manufacturing equipment systems using mechanical and electrical knowledge and trouble shooting skills.

Utilize the Computerized Management Systems for preventative maintenance and record keeping.

Utilize the predictive maintenance diagnostic tools provided, documenting and interpreting results; taking appropriate measures when needed to prevent failure.

Occasionally provide support for opposing shift, maintenance-related activity or projects.

Provide daily shift summary of priority events, utilizing e-mail and/or work request process.

Daily interaction with production group for support with set-up; repair items as needed.

Studying and becoming intimately familiar with equipment and control/mechanical interfacing for repair and trouble-shooting purposes.

Complete work order assignments within the given amount of time allowed.

Research and suggest improvement, based on known/experienced component failure or reliability.

Comprise and modify PMs to equipment based on findings during repair or preventative tasks when appropriate.

Detailed analysis and recommend repair solutions when equipment is not performing up to mechanical or electrical design expectations.

Dynamic assessment of maintenance related repair in assigned areas; keeping system up to date with additional suggested procedure repairs.

Share any newly learned discoveries pertinent to repair or trouble-shooting techniques that will assist maintenance team in reacting more efficiently and safe.

Be an active participant in open communications between all departments and shifts.

Any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader or Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

1.High School diploma required; 2.Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, Journeymen in E&I with mechanical experience, or Journeymen Maintenance Technician preferred; 3. Proven cumulative formal education in a related field required with 5 to 10 years of related experience; or 4. Equivalent combination of education and experience; 5. Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills;

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: PLC, troubleshooting, Basic computer, CMMs

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Journeyman's card a plus, Industrial Electrical License a plus. National Career Readiness Certification preferred.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Employee frequently works in production areas where adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is required.
