Manual labor (semi-skilled and unskilled) performing general, road, sidewalk, and ground maintenance.

DUTIES: Includes, but not limited to, road and street maintenance (i.e. asphalt patching, concrete patching, sidewalk installation); ground and lawn maintenance, including, but not limited to, landscaping, weed-eating, roadside mowing, ditch and swale clearing, drainage facilities cleaning; operates simple tools, electrical tools, and light-medium heavy equipment to perform duties; tree trimming; performing duties of a flagman; painting of traffic control lines; installs pavement markers; recognizes and reports safety issues to direct supervisor. Employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned, including City directed work assignments in the event of a declared emergency.)

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS: Ability and skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the type of work outlined in the essential job duties above; knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions; ability to perform routine unskilled manual work; ability to read and follow written instructions and understand and follow oral instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation from high school, vocational school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Experience in grounds maintenance, construction and/or heavy manual labor.

Must possess a valid State of Florida Drivers License and a Class B CDL permit by date of hire. Within six (6) months of being employed in this position, the employee will be required to take the necessary testing and obtain a valid State of Florida Commercial Drivers License Class B with airbrakes endorsement license.
