Manual labor (semi-skilled and unskilled) performing general, road, sidewalk, and ground maintenance. Work is performed under direct supervision of a Field Supervisor or lead worker.

Essential Job Functions:

Includes, but not limited to, road and street maintenance (i.e. asphalt patching, concrete patching, sidewalk installation).

Ground and lawn maintenance, including, but not limited to, landscaping, weed-eating, roadside mowing, ditch and swale clearing, drainage facilities cleaning.

Operates simple tools, electrical tools, and light-medium heavy equipment to perform duties.

Tree trimming.

Performing duties of a flagman.

Painting of traffic control lines.

Installs pavement markers.

Recognizes and reports safety issues to direct supervisor.

Ability and skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the type of work outlined in the essential job duties above.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Ability to perform routine unskilled manual work.

Ability to read and follow written instructions and understand and follow oral instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.

Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:

Graduation from high school, vocational school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Experience in grounds maintenance, construction and/or heavy manual labor. Must possess a valid State of Florida Drivers License and a Class B CDL permit by date of hire. Within six (6) months of being employed in this position, the employee will be required to take the necessary testing and obtain a valid State of Florida Commercial Drivers License Class B with airbrakes endorsement license.
